The Queen Mary Dark Harbor makes its debut tonight in Long Beach. As I have detailed last year, the Queen Mary's annual Halloween event, know as TerrorFest, had been handled by Shipwreck Productions until 2008; in 2009 a new crew was brought aboard, and the attraction was renamed the Haunted Queen Mary Shipwreck. 2010 sees another personel turn-over, which promises a complete revamp, one that will offer some of the originality missing from most Los Angeles Halloween haunts this year.
What will inevitably remain, however, is the Queen Mary herself. Her long dank corridors have always been the chief charm of the Halloween presentation. Even though the cast and themes have been changed for 2010, a look at these videos from 2009 should provide a glimpse of the atmosphere in store for those who venture deep into the bowels of the haunted ship.
