The Return of Fright Fair

Long-time readers may recall that last October I posted a “Lament for Fright Fair,” one my my favorite Halloween haunts, which for various reasons was not in operation in 2004. Well, I am glad to announced that Fright Fair is returning for 2005.

The revived presentation goes under the slighltly lugubrious title of “Fright Fair Featuring Factory of Nightmares.” The old version billed itself as “4 Dimensions of Fear” (that is, “four haunts slammed into one” long maze). The new version will feature a haunted house and a haunted trail, plus a Halloween harvest festival with a corn maze, petting zoo, pony rides, bungee jumps, and a hayride.

The Harvest Festival runs from September 30 through October 31. The corn maze will be open from 10:00am to 10:00pm on Sunday through Thursday and from 10:00am to 12:00am on Fridays and Saturdays.

The haunted House and haunted trail are open on September 30-October 3, October 7-9, 13-16, 11-23, and 25-31. Hours of operation are from dusk to 10:00pm on weekendays, from dusk to midnight on weekends.

Ticket prices are $12 each for the “night” corn maze (apparently a scarier version of the maze open during the day), the haunted house, or the haunted trail. A Night Combo pass gets you into all three for $20. There is also a VIP pass (no waiting in lines) for $25.00. You can purchase tickets online at TicketWeb.com.

I can’t emphasize enough that this is one of the must-see Halloween haunts. Especially after its hiatus last year, this is on top of my list of ones to visit in 2005.

You can send questions to infor@frightfair.com, or you can get more information at www.frightfair.com. It’s a flash website, but if you don’t have Flash player on your computer, you can still access a simple html page for basic information like driving directions and hours of operation.
