The Stuff and Q: The Winged Serpent, with Larry Cohen in person

The American Cinematheque presents a double bill of films by Larry Cohen, with the writer-director scheduled to appear in between the screenings for a question-and-answer session:

THE STUFF, 1985, New World, 93 min. Dir. Larry Cohen. A newly popular food – the gooey “stuff” of the title – turns out to contain a deadly virus in Larry Cohen’s sly combination of horror movie and social satire. Cohen regular Michael Moriarty stars, along with Garrett Morris, Paul Sorvino, Danny Aiello and, in a cameo, Brooke Adams. Trailer

Q (aka THE WINGED SERPENT), 1982, Taurus, 93 min. Dir. Larry Cohen. Q is a winged resurrected Aztec deity decapitating New York citizens – and two-bit piano player Michael Moriarty knows just which skyscraper hides its nest. He intends to profit from the knowledge, much to the dismay of cops David Carradine and Richard Roundtree. Discussion in between films with director Larry Cohen.
