Official US Trailer: Flow

Janus Films puts this Latvian animated film in limited release on November 22 before a wider opening on December 5. Told without dialogue (and without human characters), the story follows a cat who teams up with other animals in a search for dry land after a worldwide flood. Gints Zilbalodis directed from a script he cowrote with Matiss Kaza. The film racked up multiple awards for best picture and best animated feature on the international festival circuit. It’s a little bit outside what we usually cover at Hollywood Gothique, but it looks wonderful, and technically it is a post-apocalypse movie, so that’s good enough for us.
