Trailer: Ghost in the Shell (2017)

Here’s the trailer for the live-action remake of Ghost in the Shell, which Paramount and DreamsWorks have scheduled for theatrical release on March 31, 2017. Scarlett Johansson, Michael Wincott, Michael Pitt, Juliette Binoche, Rila Fukushima, Pilou Asbaek, and Takeshi Kitano star. Rupert Sanders directed from a screenplay by Jonathan Herman and Jamie Moss, officially based on the manga by Masamune Shirow, though the trailer clearly shows the influence of the 1995 anime adaptation directed by Mamoru Oshii.

At first glance, the new film’s imagery looks great, but it seems as if the story has been muddled, turning into a variation on Robocop.

Update: Trailer has apparently been blocked for partial nudity.
