Trailer: Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio

Check out the trailer for Guillermo Del Tor’s stop-motion version of Pinocchio, which will receive a brief theatrical release in November before arriving on Netflix in time for Christmas. Del Toro (The Shape of Water) co-directed with Mark Gustafson (The PJs) from a screenplay by Gris Grimly and Patrick McHale, based on Carlo Collodi’s novel. Voices are provided by Cate Blanchett, Ewan McGregor, Tilda Swinton, John Turturro, Christoph Waltz, Ron Perlman, and Gregory Mann as the puppet who wants to be a boy.

A rival version of Pinocchio, directed by Robert Zemickis with voices by Tom Hanks, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, and Lorraine Bracco, will debut on Disney+ in September.
