Trailer: The Artifice Girl
In conjunction with its Digital and Video On Demand release, The Artifice Girl will screen at 7:30pm on Thursday, April 27 in the Alama Drafthouse, with writer-director-star Franklin Ritch in person for a Q&A. The science fiction film follows a team of special agents who team up with a troubled hacker who creates an AI program to bait and trap online predators; unfortunately, the AI soon outgrows its original purpose.
Marking Franklin Ritch’s feature film debut, The Artifice Girl was nominated for the Adam Yauch Hörnblowér Award at last month’s SXSW and won Best International Feature at last year’s Fantasia Film Festival. The cast includes Tatum Matthews, David Girard, Sinda Nichols, Franklin Ritch, and genre stalwart Lance Henriksen (Aliens).
XYZ Films releases The Artifice Girl in Theaters, On Digital and On Demand on April 27, 2023.
