Upcoming Review: The Lizzie Borden Musical

Just got back from the penultimate performance of Spindle City: The Lizzie Borden Musical, which wraps up its run at the Secret Rose Theatre  in NoHo Arts District after one final performance at 8pm tonight. Beau Bridges (son of Lloyd, brother of Jeff, star of more stuff than I can list here) was in attendance. Starring as Lizzie is Emily Bridges. Coincidence? I think not.

The show is more musical than horror, with emphasis on the social context in which the infamous murders took place and little time spent on the subsequent trial. There are some great song and performances. I don’t know if advance tickets are still available online, but the theatre usually reserves a few seats for walk-ins, and the play is worth checking out if you can.
