Homestead Museum

For Halloween 2018, the Workman-Temple Family Homestead Museum replaces its Beyond the Grave Tour with a "Sorrowful Soirée," which covers some of the same territory, specifically the changing attitudes toward death from the late 19th century to the early 20th century. Visitors are invited to celebrate life while learning about death and enjoying special tours and activities. There will be examples of current Halloween activities (trick-or-treating, costumes) whose history extends well into the past. Picnics are welcome.
