You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream

No, I am not at Screamfest, which is wrapping up today at the Chinese 6 Theatres in Hollywood. I was just passing through on the way to the cocktail soiree for Icons of Darkness (more on which later). I just wanted to say that one of my big regrets about Hollywood Gothique is that, since our Halloween coverage has expanded beyond haunted houses to include theatrical productions, museum tours, art exhibitions, and a plethora of other events, I no longer have time to attend the annual Screamfest Horror Film Festival.

As with all festivals, there were a few clunkers, but Screamfest did a good job of picking winners, too. I saw a lot of entertaining films before they reached the general public (e.g., Hatchet, Diary of the Dead, and Paranormal Activity), and I hope some day to be able to do that again.
