Description: Stanley Kubrick’s 1968 science fiction masterpiece screens as part of the Arclight Cinemas’ Cinerama festival, which also includes THE WONDERFUL WORLD OF THE BROTHERS GRIMM, among many other titles.
2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY was actually shot in SuperPanavision – a 70mm image enhanced with an anamorphic squeeze to approximate the aspect ratio of the Cinerama format (which involved using three separate synchronized cameras for an image three times as wide as the old standard format).
