American Cinematheque Tribute to Rutger Hauer

This week, the American Cinematheque pays tribute to the late actor Rutger Hauer with a quartet of screenings running Thursday through Sunday. Though Hauer was far from typecast in horror, fantasy, and science fiction roles, some of his most memorable performances were in genre films: Roy Batty in Blade Runner, Etienne Navarre in Ladyhawke, and the title character in The Hitcher – all of which will be screened, along with several others. The complete schedule is:

  • Blade Runner – Thursday, August 8
  • Ladyhawke & Flesh+Blood – Friday, August 9
  • The Hitcher, Nighthawks, Hobo with a Shotgun – Saturday, August 10
  • The Blood of Heroes, Blind Fury – Sunday, August 11

All screenings take place at the Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood, starting at 7:30pm.
