Ghosts to haunt Gentle Barn Update: Cancelled
Update: The Haunted Barnyard has been cancelled due to destruction of sets by the Santa Ana winds. News came via an announcement on the event’s webpage:
As you all know, we put together an amazing community drive-through that we’ve been eager for all of you to experience — The Haunted Barnyard: Land of Nightmares. But due to a series of unforeseen circumstances that culminated in powerful Santa Ana winds destroying many of the drive-through’s structures and features, we need to cancel The Haunted Barnyard entirely.
Starting on Thursday, the Gentle Barn in Santa Clarita will present a Halloween fund-raiser called The Haunted Barnyard: Land of Nightmares. Passengers will drive through a one-hour immersive environment created by designers and artists who have worked at Halloween Horror Nights, Knott’s Scary Farm, and Six Flags Fright Fest. Vehicles will stop at several themed areas, including a zombie graveyard, an insane asylum, a ghost maze, and a funhouse. The event is recommended for ages 13 and up, but younger guests will be allowed at parents discretion.
Guests are encouraged to dress for the occasion. A smartphone connected to your car stereo, Bluetooth, or an external speaker is recommended, in order to play predownloaded audio accompaniment.
Tickets start at $28 each with a minimum of two per car. (Single drivers price is $56.) VIP tickets are $60 each for a minimum of two per car.
The Haunted Barnyard runs from October 22 through November 6, with starting times in half-hour increments from 7:30pm through 10pm.
The address is 15825 Sierra Highway, Santa Clarita, CA 91390. Get more information at the official website.
