LA. Halloween Cinema Screenings Los Angeles

Halloween Horror Movie Screenings, Film Festivals & All-Night Horror Shows in Los Angeles

Although Halloween Events are typically live (haunted houses, costume parties, etc.), Los Angeles offers plenty of Halloween horror movie screenings every October. Hollywood and the surrounding environs are home to several repertory and specialty theatres; local organizations screen movies in unusual, outdoor settings (parks, cemeteries), and even the major theatre chains get in on the action.

Many of these venues program lengthy series of classic, cult, and contemporary horror titles; others squeeze in a few scare films into otherwise Halloween-free programming. The locations are spread around the Greater Los Angeles area, so you need not live in Hollywood in order to enjoy a little Hollywood Gothique Cinema.

In short, there is no shortage of Halloween Horror Movie Screenings in L.A.

The Million Dollar Theatre in downtown Los Angeles

Street Food Cinema has announced its Halloween Schedule, including screenings of EDWARD SCISSORHANDS, JURASSIC PARK, THE NIGHTMARE BEFORE CHRISTMAS, HOCUS POCUS, THE CRAFT, and BEETLEJUICE.

As the name suggests, Street Food Cinema screens movies outdoors. Their year-round programming takes a turn toward terror every Halloween, presenting films in several locations around town: Victory Park in Pasadena, Will Rogers State Historic Park in Pacific Palisades, etc.

For Halloween 2019, Street Food Cinema introduced a new Halloween Cinema Event, Cinema Phantasmagoria, a sort of immersive experience inside the Million Dollar Theatre, with costumed actors transporting guests back into the 1920s (reviewed here). Unfortunately, the event appears to have been a one-off.

For more information, including screening locations, visit Street Food Cinema’s website.
