Halloween 2024 Films: This year, the Montalbán has cut back on its October horror movie programing, which is not being billed as “Rooftop Screams.” The only horror film is The Lost Boys on October 26. Also screened will be The Dark Knight and Guardians of the Galaxy.

Rooftop Screening Dates: Fridays & Saturdays in October.

Hours: Doors and bar open at 6:30 pm. Films usually start at approximately 8:15pm.

Tickets: $25 for a single seat with complimentary popcorn, $45 for a love seat for 2 with unlimited popcorn and two complimentary champagne glasses.

Rooftop Screams Information: The Montalbán presented this annual rooftop festival of Halloween-flavored films every October. The annual Halloween Cinema series offered an eclectic mix of titles, with classic, cult, and contemporary titles ranging from PG to R and even unrated.

The Montalbán delivers a great outdoor movie experience, with comfortable seating, great audio-video, and terrific amenities. Films are digitally projected on a large, high-quality screen, with audio provided through headphones to cancel out noise from traffic on the street below.

Amenities include popcorn, sodas, Umami Burgers, and alcoholic beverages.

There is no ADA access for the rooftop; access to the screening space is via stairs only, no elevator service. No outside food or beverage is allowed.

Screenings are intended for ages 14-and-up.

The Montalbán has also included Fantasy, Horror & Science Fiction titles at other times of the year, as in its Summer Series.

Rooftop Screams did not take place in 2020 because of the Covid-19 pandemic. Montalbán resumed rooftop screenings in August 2021. 2024 saw the presenting a mix of genres, with only a few horror/sci-fi/fantasy titles.
