Rooftop Cinema Club: Spooky SZN

Halloween 2024 Programming: Titled “Spooky SZN,” this October’s Rooftop Cinema Club schedule offers a mix of horror, fantasy, and even a touch of science fiction. Titles include Hocus Pocus, Scream, Jurassic Park, Everything Everywhere All at Once, Beeltejuice, Twilight, Abigail, The Shining, The Blackening, A Quiet Place: Day One, Scream 2, American Psycho, The Addams Family (1991), The Sixth Sense, Ready or Not, Practical  Magic, The Exorcist, The Crow (1994), Halloween (1978), The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Conjuring, Trick ‘R Treat, Death Becomes Her, Get Out, Edward Scissorhands, Friday the 13th (1980), Jennifer’s Body, Shutter Island, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, and Blade.

Dates & Hours: Movies screen on weekends and select weeknights throughout October, including Halloween Night. Most nights include two films. Start times depend on sunset: early in the month the first screenings start at 7pm; later in the month, the first screenings start at 6:30pm. Second screening start times depend on length of first film, ranging from 9:10pm to 10:25pm.

Tickets: $15 for teens and $21 for adults in a single seat; love seats for 2 cost $27 (popcorn included).

More Information: Unlike many other Halloween film fests in Los Angeles, Rooftop Cinema Club avoids digging way back into black-and-white monster movies of the 1930s and 1940s. Most films dates from the 1990s onward, with a few (such as John Carpenter’s Halloween) plucked from the 1970s.
