Hollywood Gothique Says:

This imaginative home haunt switches theme and approach from one Halloween to the next, from a colorful yard display with the emphasis on comedy to a monochromatic maze with an emphasis on sinister dread.

2020 Dates: This year, Opechee Haunt presents a brand new experience designed to work during the Covid-19 pandemic: For TOUR, Darren Ward (L.A. Murder Tours) has crafted an immersive, self-guided tour to replace the live tours he can no longer lead in person during a time of social distancing. Participants navigate their vehicles through dark, sleepy neighborhoods where sinister stories lurk in the shadows - revealed via digital downloads. The scare level of the half-hour experience does not include the jump-scares of a haunted house, but it is designed to disturb.

TOUR takes place in Glendale, exact address revealed to ticket holders during the experience.

Dates: October 1-3, 15-17, 22-24; November 5-8. Start times at half-hour intervals from 8pm to 10:30pm.

Tickets: $15

The Opechee Haunt History

The Opechee Haunt started in 2011 as a small maze at a Halloween party. Since then, the home haunt has grown, sometimes offering a walk-through, sometimes offering a yard display with recorded voices timed to lighting and visual effects, such as the 2017 production, Jack's Halloween JamBOORee, an amusing display of talking Jack-O'Lanterns, with sound and lighting effects in the front yard.

For Halloween 2018, Opechee Haunt presented a walk-through titled the Donnie Darko Experience, inspired by the cult movie, which was creepy but too scary for all but the most timid trick-or-treaters. 2019 switched to a revised version of Jack's Halloween JamBOOree.
