Description: Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood returns in 2012 with a slaughterhouse full of new atrocities, ranging from shock rock nightmares to videogame mayhem, from ghostly legends to ghoulish zombies. In a break with tradition, the new attractions are inspired not by popular movie franchises. Instead, we get “Alice Cooper Goes to Hell in 3D” (based on the rocker’s 1970s album); “Welcome to Silent Hill” (based on the video game); “The Walking Dead: Dead Inside” (based on the AMC TV series); and “La Llorona: Cazadora de Niños” (based on the Mexican legend of the “Crying Woman”).

In addition to haunting their own maze, THE WALKING DEAD will also invade the backlot Terror Tram Tour. Can you and your friends survive alongside Rick Grimes and his small band of survivors, fighting tooth and nail against overwhelming hordes of zombies? Find out!

This year’s dates are September 21-22, 28-29, October 5-7, 12-14, 18-21, 25-31.

Halloween Horror Nights is a separate event that takes place every evening, after the Universal Studios theme park closes for regular business. Doors open nightly at 7:00pm. Park closes at 2:00am on Fridays and Saturdays, at 1:00am on Sundays and weeknights.

Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Studios Hollywood features the most elaborate mazes, props, special effects, and makeup of any Halloween haunt in Los Angeles. Like Knott’s Scary Farm, Universal’s Halloween Horror Nights features a mix of mazes, shows, and scare zones specially crafted for the season.

Tickets usually range from $50 to $90 (depending on what day you attend and whether you want VIP privileges), with some special packages going upwards of $150. There are discounts for advance sales and group purchases of 6 or more.
