Happy October 1st!

Considering that the Halloween season is already in full swing (Hollywood Gothique hit four major haunted house events in September), October 1 is no longer a major date heralding the arrival of Halloween in Los Angeles. Nevertheless, if only for tradition’s sake, we wanted to pause and note that October is here, in all its autumnal glory. Whispering wind blows through the leaves; branches heave a mournful sigh. Spirits beckon us to join in the seasonal revels that will climax upon October 31.

Once upon a time, this would have been the day when children started thinking about their costumes, and parents started making plans to purchase treats and decorations. Today, at least, October 1 should at least serve as the start of your Halloween countdown: only 30 days to go. So much to do, so little time. We have such sights to show you…
