“Haunted Homes” preview excerpt

If you are wondering why Hollywood Gothique has been mostly dormant lately, here is the answer: Your humble host has been engaged on a time-consuming endeavor in the form of a goth-horror-prog-rock song inspired by our favorite Halloween home haunts. Unfortunately, I take about as long to finish a song as Stanley Kubrick took to complete a film, and “Haunted Homes” is still very much a work-in-progress. But I want to preview what’s in store, so here is a 4-minute excerpt (less than one-half the complete song), using a very rough mix.

The music is entirely instrumental at this point; vocals will come later. Fortunately, the instrumental track works pretty well as background music for some of the haunts that inspired the song: Backwoods Maze, Boney Island, Rotten Apple 907, Sherwood Scare, Spooky Hollows, etc.
