Insidious Live shuts down
Insidious: The Further You Fear has shut down its planned nationwide tour. The live show, based on the popular Blumhouse film franchise, had been expected to reach the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood for two dates on April 30 and May 1, but after a disastrous Detroit performance, those shows were scrapped. Broadway in Hollywood’s url for ticket purchases now leads to a “Page Not Found” message.
Insidious: The Further You Fear launched its tour on January 18 in Lafayette, AR, apparently without incident; however, when it reached Detroit, audiences complained that the show did not deliver the “immersive horror experience” that had been promised. “We were surprised when we sat down, and there was no set. It just wasn’t at all what it was advertised as,” said one patron, according to a report in Broadway World.
Following the negative audience response, the tour was cancelled, and tickets were pulled from the official website, which has since gone offline.
