Laserblast: Star Wars – the Original Trilogy on DVD
The big news for Lucasoids this week is the release – yet again – of the original STAR WARS trilogy on home video.
If you’re not reborn in the Force, you may have lost count of the times that STAR WARS IV: A NEW HOPE, STAR WARS V: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK, and STAR WARS VI: RETURN OF THE JEDI have come out on VHS, laserdisc, and DVD. Nevertheless, if you’re a fan of the films as they were seen in theatres (before the digital alterations in 1997, which were followed by further alterations for DVD release), you may be interested to know that, this time, they are being released in two-disc DVD packages that contain the original theatrical versions, sandwiched together with the revised versions, along with a handful of bonus features, including audio commentaries, Easter eggs, ans XBox game demos.
ALSO THIS WEEK
The week’s other science-fiction, fantasy, and horror movies coming out on DVD include The Stephen King Thriller Collection (which boxes together THE SHINING with THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION and DREAMCATCHER).
