Music Video: Duran Duran – Danse Macabre

Just in time for Halloween, Duran Duran have dropped a music video for the title song from their upcoming, horror-themed album, Danse Macabre. Allegedly created with A.I., the video features some nicely detailed and atmospheric visuals, although movement and expression are limited; at times the backgrounds remind us of a CGI virtual reality attraction from about five years ago. The song combines ominous textures, a dance-able drumbeat, a catchy chorus, and rap vocals for the verses.

Currently available for presale, the album becomes available on October 27. The track list mixes three original tracks, re-recordings of Duran Duran hits, and cover versions of songs by other artists, including The Specials’ “Ghost Town,” The Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black,” The Talking Heads’ “Psycho Killer” and Siouxsie and the Banshees’ “Spellbound.”
