No Yōkai in L.A., sadly

We just finished listening to “Kabuki and the Making of a Vengeful Female Ghost,” a very informative Zoom lecture by Dr. Satoko Shimazaki, which was given in association with a museum exhibition titled Yōkai: Ghosts & Demons of Japan. Sounds great! Let’s go!

Unfortunately, even though Dr. Shimazaki is Associate Professor of Asian Languages & Culture at UCLA, the exhibition is not in Los Angeles; it is at Museum of International Folk Art in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We hope it reaches LA someday, but don’t hold your breath – Yōkai: Ghosts & Demons of Japan is currently scheduled to remain at the Museum of International Folk Art through August 31, 2022.
