Old Pasadena Halloween Celebration 2015: Trick-or-Treats, Mad Monster Party & More

The Old Pasadena Halloween Celebration has numerous treats in store for local residences this October: pumpkin carving, a costume contest for dogs, trick-or-treating at local businesses, and a family-friendly Halloween movie.

The events kick off on Saturday, October 24 with One Colorado’s Annual Pumpkin Decorating, from 10am to noon in 41 Hugus Alley, off One Colorado. Pumpkins are provided while they last; all finished Jack O’Lanterns go home with the artists who created them.

Then on Sunday, October 25 there is Growl-o-ween at The Dog Bakery from 11am to 1pm. There will be three costume contests for dogs, in categories for Large, Small, and Duo. The address is 36 W. Colorado Blvd., Suite 3 (on Mills Place); phone number is (626) 440-0443.

Halloween night – Saturday, October 31 – begins with Trick-or-Treating from 5pm to 8pm at participating local businesses around One Colorado in Old Pasadena. Besides free treats for kids, the Dog Bakery will have biscuits for costumed canines; there will be photo ops with Halloween-themed backgrounds; and popular costumed characters will be lurking along Colorado Boulevard.

Halloween wraps up with a screening of Mad Monster Party at 7:30pm in 41 Hugus Alley, off One Colorado Boulevard. The 1967 animated film is a perfect Halloween treat for kids, featuring non-scary stop-motion versions of famous monsters such as Dracula, Frankenstein, and the Wolf Man.

All events are free and open to the public. You can find them listed on the Old Pasadena website here.
