Queen Mary announces “Anubis Paintball Adventure” for Dark Harbor 2015
Something was missing from the Queen Mary Dark Harbor’s attractions for Halloween 2015: some kind of special up-charge event to replace the disappointing “Encounters” from last year. Well, that changed today with the announcement that the Queen Mary will offer an “Anubis Paintball Adventure,” in which guests will wage a 3D paintball battle against the Egyptian god.
Paintball and/or airsoft attractions seem to becoming an increasingly prevalent part of Southern California Halloween attractions, appearing first in Haunted Hollywood Sports, then the Knotts Berry Farm Halloween Haunt, and now at Dark Harbor. The appeal is pretty obvious: it’s a chance to turn the tables and fight back against the monsters, instead of passively running away in fear. The self-defense aspect also solves a problem apparent in many haunts: the monsters get up in your face but do not actually attack you, leaving you to wonder why. Now we know why: because you can make them eat lead!
Dark Harbor will run at the Queen Mary on weekends in October, starting on the first. Get more info here.
