R.I.P. Rage Fairy Playwright Antonia Karlotta Czinger

Sad news: Antonia Karlotta Czinger, whose play The Rage Fairy was a theatrical highlight of 2022, died by suicide on December 21. She was 32. The announcement came via a post from her family on her Facebook page.

Czinger began her theatrical career as an actress in a production at Zombie Joe’s Underground Theatre. She also worked as a therapist, having earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology at Pepperdine after writing and directing The Rage Fairy. Though details of her death were not revealed, the announcement by her family indicated that she succumbed to the emotional toll of her clinical work.

Czinger’s passing is a great loss to the L.A. Theatre scene. The Rage Fairy was an amazing debut as a playwright, and we looked forward to seeing more of her work. You can learn more about her in this profile at Voyage LA.
