Re-Animator: The Musical ticket winners announced
Hollywood Gothique would like to congratulate Cherisse Leopold and Kent Lauer, both of whom won a pair of tickets to see Re-Animator: The Musical on its preview weekend, October 10-12. We would also like to thank all the other contestants; we’re sorry we could not give free tickets to all of you!
Based on the 1985 film directed by Stuart Gordon, which in turn was inspired by H.P. Lovecraft’s serial, “Herbert West – Reanimator,” Re-Animator: The Musical tells the story of a precocious college student who develops a reagent that resurrects the dead. The only problem is: the specimens need to be fresh; otherwise, the results are maniacal zombies.
Re-Animator: The Musical made its debut at the Steve Allen Theatre in 2011, under the auspices of Trepany House, a non-profit organization that cultivates original material. Stuart Gordon directed, working from a script he co-wrote with Dennis Paoli and William J. Norris, with songs by Mark Nutter. Gordon is back in the director’s chair for this revival, and Nutter has composed new songs for this revival.
After the preview weekend, Re-Animator: The Musical officially opens on Friday, October 17 and runs until November 2, with performances at 8pm on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
The Steve Allen Theater is located at 4773 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90027.
