Rocky Horror Burlesque Show coming to Crown Theatre

It’s time to shiver with anticipation of The Rocky Horror Burlesque Show, which is coming to The Crown Theatre this Halloween season. The burlesque treatment of the cult stage show is courtesy of The Hollywood Jane Revue, which has been crafting nerdy burlesques in Los Angeles for over a decade. The show promises award winning performers and special guests singing your favorite songs like never before.

Wait a minute! Wasn’t The Rocky Horror Show always a burlesque? Well, according to an LA Weekly review of a 2016 performance at Rockwell Table and Stage, “The Hollywood Jane Revue made Rocky Horror Even Sexier” by “taking the already titillating subject matter and amping up the sex appeal” to create “a spectacle that was equal parts grandiose and grotesque, kind of like the original.” Since then, Hollywood Jane Revue revived the show last year for an October 18 performance at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood.

This year, The Rocky Horror Burlesque Show will have a single performance on Sunday, October 13 at 7pm. The Crown Theatre is located inside Crown City Dance at 140 S. Rosemead Boulevard in Pasadena. Tickets are $20 for seats and $15 for standing room. Get more information at hollywoodjanerevue.com.
