Six Flags Magic Mountain Fright Fest dates for Halloween 2009
Six Flags Magic Mountain has announced its dates for the 2009 edition of its annual Fright Fest. Sponsored by Snickers this year, the Halloween celebration will run Fridays through Sundays in October, except for October 2, when the park will be closed. Hours are 10:30am to midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and from 10:30am to 10:00pm on Sundays.
Most of the Fright Fest’s Halloween activities take place after sundown. Regular admission tickets allow you into the Six Flags Magic Mountain all day, even before the Halloween fun starts: $53.99 General Admission; $29.99 for children under 48 inches tall; Children under 2 years old are free. You can also purchase a “Flash Pass” (Regular or Gold) in order to avoid waiting in line.
Advance General Admission tickets for are available online for essentially half price: $26.99 for a single ticket, which you can print at home. Discount coupons are often available during October in the advertising sections of major newspapers for a $29.99 adult admission price, and you can usually find discount coupons at Jack in the Box restaurants.Group rates are available for ten or more ($25 for adults, $15 for children). There are also a 2009 Season Passes ($63.99) and VIP Tours (a whopping $299 that includes parking, admission, food, games, and front-of-the-line privileges).
No word yet on whether there will be any new haunted mazes, but Six Flags promises a “special trick-or-treat trail just for kids.”
Also no word on whether they will continue their ill-advised policy, instated last year, of charging extra for their Halloween attractions.
